To clarify the "undetermined" GIA classification: the reason for this diamond having an "undetermined" color grading by the GIA, is because it is from Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe stones were "illegal" for many years, but are "legal" now. In fact the largest diamond fields in the world are in Zimbabwe.
The GIA is the most stringent when it comes to certification of stones. Green diamonds went through this same phase when they were first discovered. Virtually all green diamonds that once held an "undetermined" color grading by the GIA are now certified green!
Because of this slow-to-transition grading, the price of “undetermined” diamonds is drastically reduced. It’s likely that other labs would grade the stones as NATURAL, making this price an unbelievable value.
